Are you:
If you answered ‘Yes’ to all four questions, then you’re eligible to enrol in a government-subsidised course with an approved Smart and Skilled training provider.
Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, designed to help people gain the skills they need to get a job, advance their career, or pursue further study. Through this program, eligible students can access government-subsidised training for Certificate IV, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma qualifications in targeted priority areas, subject to funding availability.
To be eligible for Smart and Skilled funding, you must:
Be 15 years of age or older
No longer be attending school
Live or work in NSW
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen
There’s never been a better time to start a traineeship in NSW. Under the NSW Government Fee-Free Traineeship initiative, trainees who commence their qualification on or after 1 January 2020 may be eligible for fully subsidised training.
As a new-entrant trainee, you may receive a government subsidy for your traineeship qualification — even if you already hold a Certificate IV or higher-level qualification.
For more information about new-entrant traineeships, please visit the NSW Government Traineeship Information Page.
To be eligible, you must:

Live or work in NSW
